The Death Star Bill

So, I'm going to go on at length about how MAGA/NRx's Death Star of an ominubus fuck-you to most Americans bill will mean a kind of Clearance and Enclosure movement for women. But not here.

The fight back is happening. House Democrats offered over 500 amendments to this bill, they did what they could to register the issues, offer solutions. For the terrible and good news, Politics Girl got it covered with a focus on women.

I came across this thread 👇🏻 as I was doom scrolling the Empire's progress pissing of the whole galaxy (yes, been rewatching Star Wars, I need some good guys doing something energy). This bill will seriously endanger trans people -- I mean, it endangers everyone, but it goes at trans people in a very bespoke way.

It will endanger 14 million Americans because all those insane EO's that recinded grants will be Law in this bill and it cuts SNAP, CHIP, Medcaid to the literal bone, and Planned Parenthood will likely end altogether. This puts a millions of American women in impossible binds and in actual danger. See the link 👆🏻

The wicked catch for trans people is emblematic. (They are some detail oriented assholes, like all fash, good at death via beauocracy.) The wicked catch is that medications and hormone treatment for both minors and adults is categorized as “proceedure" and recinds forever all funding for transition proceedures from CHIP and Medicaid. This will yank the 152,000 trans people currently covered off of their treatments. It won't taper down, there's not plan for support, there no nothing for them. Just enjoy your medical complications, see ya! The cruelty is the point and the violence of it is astonishing.

I have a lot to say about this.

1. Trans people are human and should not be forced to suffer as they will because some USians are bigoted, ghoulish, assholes squeamish about anything that sniffs of gender-nonconformity or … sex in the sense of fucking and fun.

2. There are no trans kids, there is an industrial complex of social media and bad/fake studies and medical providers who see heaps of dollars every time some child presents with ‘gender dysphoria'. Kids should be protected from this rampant fuckery. -- This is not how you do that.

   1. Punishing the individual for the sins of the system is standard neoliberal fucktastical malpractice, but come on y'all. 152,000 people is not even loose change in pockets of the fedral budget.

3. Trans people deserve the excersise of all their civil rights. To employment, housing, the vote, legal defense, access to public assistance … all of it.

4. Trans women do not deserve to excerise women's rights. Protecting some men as part of the class of women blows huge holes our excercise of our rights.This simple point has been the heart of the Gender Critical movement.

5. Porn is half of the ‘onset' of trans identification for most people, either because it sucks them into a vortext of increasingly niche (I'll just use that word) content or because it encourages so much sexual violence against women that women and girls would rather risk the complications of medical transition than deal with how bent and broken male sexuality has become.

6. End Porn.

7. If we really want to fuck with gender, we need to fuck with male entitlement and social esteem. No TQ or ally organizations are doing that, so we will remain locked in this battle for some time.

8. Attempting to add some men to the protected class of women Royally Pissed Off A Lot Of Women enough that they voted for the people who are now doing this unholy and viscious thing.

   1. Dems, stop making trans people the icon of all civil rights. You will, I am sad today, get us stuck with the fash forever if you keep doing that. There is a moderate position to be taken here, take it.

9. Those Pissed Off Women have not yet come to terms with how fucked they are too, but that is for another time.

   1. They wanted their spaces, but they will lose their public assistance and crisis services in the bargain. Lose-Lose.

10. This bill is going to kill people, children, and serves only place these ‘others' in fear. It's is structural, that's what me mean by structural: the law supports it.

11. It will go on to even fail at its ‘fiscal goals' of ‘saving money' (it hurts to even write it out) because these people will get sick, will need care, and will show up in emergency rooms

    1. except in the rural regions where the hospitals will close due to the cuts to CHIP and Medicaid because this bill also fucks over the whole of rural America.

12. MAGA/NRx do this in the name of God and Country but they serve only their Greed and Power, and I will stand with every single American who will join me against this Death Star bill and the regime.
